The legend is that they played “Nearer My God to Thee” as the ship went down but the Titanic Orchestra led by violinist Wallace Hartley from  Colne, Lancashire certainly played all the famous Edwardian “palm court” numbers.

One of the most respected composers of light orchestral music was Canadian Robert Farnon. We will perform some of his pieces along with Vancouver composer Michael Conway Baker. Cellist Pamela Highbaugh Aloni also performs music by Offenbach, Faure and Victor Herbert.
